AI Avatar Terminal for the Next Generation of Passenger Experience

An intelligent transparent information kiosk includes a one-piece transparent structural body supporting a display presenting an AI avatar. The kiosk incorporates cameras, microphones, directional audio, embedded computing, and network connectivity to provide private multilingual interaction and centralized fleet management. The system is particularly suited for airports and other public environments requiring scalable AI-assisted passenger information and guidance.

Operation

When a passenger approaches the kiosk, the camera detects the user's presence.

The AI avatar automatically activates.

The directional audio system creates a localized listening area enabling the user to hear the conversation while reducing sound leakage into the surrounding public space.

Passenger speech is captured by the microphone array.

The embedded computer processes requests locally and/or through cloud-based AI services.

Information may include airport navigation, flight status, transportation, retail services, emergency guidance, accessibility support, or other operational information.

Each kiosk continuously communicates with a centralized management platform allowing software updates, monitoring, diagnostics, content synchronization, analytics, and operational control.

The invention provides an intelligent transparent information kiosk comprising a substantially transparent structural panel that functions as both the supporting structure and the display surface.

The kiosk includes:

  • A transparent one-piece bent acrylic (Plexiglas® or equivalent transparent material) body forming both the display section and the supporting leg.

  • A transparent display or display assembly positioned behind or integrated with the transparent structure.

  • A life-size AI avatar capable of natural voice interaction.

  • One or more cameras configured for user detection and, where authorized, facial recognition or identity verification.

  • A microphone array for voice capture.

  • A directional audio system creating a localized private listening zone around the user.

  • An embedded computing system.

  • Internet connectivity.

  • Remote management software allowing multiple kiosks to operate as nodes in a centrally managed network.

  • Airport operational integration including flight information, wayfinding, announcements, emergency messaging, and passenger assistance.
